The ENTRUST Training Course
ETC is a two year course designed around the philosophy of:
"See it all" |
comprising a Bible overview, Bible book overviews and Doctrine Overviews |
"Get it right" |
which helps students to understand the various Bible genres and to apply good principles of exposition to each |
"Put it across" |
helping students become better communicators of God's Word |
In practice, this works in the following way:
- First year:
- Bible overview (the Bible’s story is unfolded from Genesis to Revelation)
- Principles of Exposition (8 weeks each)
- General principles of Exposition
- Exposition Principles for NT epistles
- Exposition Principles for OT prophecy
- Exposition Principles for OT narrative
- Doctrine and Ministry (6 weeks each)
- Revelation
- God
- Man and Sin
- Christ
- Gobbets (Short talks given by students)
- Second Year:
- Romans, Isaiah, Luke
- Principles of Exposition (8 weeks each)
- Exposition Principles for OT poetry Exposition
- Principles for OT wisdom Exposition
- Principles for NT apocalyptic Exposition
- Principles for NT gospels
- Doctrine and Ministry (6 weeks each)
- Holy Spirit
- Church
- Last things
- Preaching
- Doctrine
- Sermons given by students ETC meets on Wednesdays at Christ Church Pinetown.
There are two ways of benefitting from ETC:
- Full day from 9am to 3.30pm. This costs R500.00 per term. Lunch not included. This is our recommendation as all subjects are covered in their entirety.
- Part time from 9am to 12.30pm. This course excludes the ‘Doctrine and Ministry’ course as well as the talks given by students.
